The Hungarian and Serbian/Croatian BA course at UCL offers a unique opportunity to combine the study of two languages, literatures, and cultures. Immersion in these language studies provides students with high-level language skills and a deep understanding of Hungarian and Serbian/Croatian cultures.Course Content: The four-year degree includes a year abroad and combines intensive language tuition with the study of Hungarian and Serbian/Croatian culture, history, and literature. In much of the course, Hungarian and Serbian/Croatian are studied in parallel. The course investigates cultural identity and memory, politics and society, film and media, gender and the family, national and ethnic identities, diaspora and migration, and war and post-war reconstruction.Key Modules: The course covers modules like Hungarian A: An Introduction to Hungarian Language and Culture, Hungarian B: An Introduction to Hungarian Language and Culture, Advanced Hungarian Translation and Oral Studies, and several others.
