BA Hebrew and Spanish

The Hebrew and Spanish BA is a unique degree program offered by University College London (UCL). The course allows students to study both Hebrew and Spanish with a focus on developing skills in speaking, listening, reading and writing in both languages. Additionally, the course exposes students to the history, cinema, literature, and politics of Israel and the Spanish-speaking world, offering a truly immersive experience in both cultures.Course Content: The content for the Hebrew and Spanish BA is split across four years. The first year includes language modules in Hebrew and Spanish, along with Introduction to Israeli Culture and Introduction to Latin American Culture. In second year, students enhance their language skills in both Hebrew and Spanish, also studying modules like Introduction to Israeli Literature and Hispanic Culture and Society. This is followed by a year abroad spent in Israel and a Spanish-speaking country for an immersive learning experience. In the fourth and final year, students continue with advanced language studies in Hebrew and Spanish and choose options from a wide range of modules.Key Modules: Some of the key modules available to the students include Israeli Cinema, Spanish Language, Modern Hebrew Language, Israeli Culture and Society, Middle Eastern History, Hispanic Culture and Society, Spanish American Cinema, and Israeli Literature.Future Careers: Graduates of the Hebrew and Spanish BA are well-equipped for a range of careers due to the combined skills in languages, culture, and critical thinking.
