The German and Yiddish BA is a unique undergraduate course offered at UCL, designed to provide students with comprehensive knowledge of German language and culture, with the added specialization in Yiddish. A noteworthy part of the programme is that students get the opportunity to study German and Yiddish in their social, cultural, historical, and political contexts.Course Content: In the first and second years' study, students will grasp the basics of German and Yiddish languages, gain a thorough understanding of German culture, and familiarise themselves with Yiddish literature and culture. In the third year, students will spend time in a German-speaking area to gain real-world experience and to enhance language skills.
