BA German and English

The German and English BA course is a comprehensive undergraduate program offered by the University College London (UCL). This course provides students with in-depth knowledge about German and English. During their study, students will become proficient in both languages, while learning about the cultures and histories of the countries where these languages are spoken.Course Content: The program is directed to students who want to reach a near-native command of the German language, and to acquire an in-depth understanding of the German-speaking world, alongside their study of English literature. They will also get the chance to study abroad in a German-speaking country dramatically to enhance their language skills. Students will study various texts including prose, poetry and drama, and films and other visual media.Key Modules: There is a range of modules available in this course such as German Studies, Comparative Literature, Gender/Sexuality/Mediation and Modernism/Postmodernism – KLN, and film studies. Students will also have to choose two further optional modules per year from a list of options that may vary from year to year.Future Careers: The wide range of skills acquired through this degree, such as critical thinking, research, presentation, language and writing skills, ensures that graduates are attractive to a wide range of employers.
