The French and Serbian/Croatian BA course is a unique programme offered by the University College London (UCL). The course provides an in-depth study of the French language and culture coupled with that of Serbian or Croatian. It offers a balanced concoction of critical analysis, language skills and cultural insight, pursued through four of study including a year abroad.Course Content: This degree program includes an exploration of four interrelated disciplines: language, literature, culture and linguistics. Students will acquire a comprehensive understanding of the French and Serbian or Croatian language while delving into the cultures of these societies. New trends in thought and other aspects of French and Francophone culture will be explored, as well as the study of classical French literature. In the final year, students are given free reign over their study of either Serbian and Croatian or French. Additionally, all students spend their third year abroad to enrich their linguistic and cultural proficiency.Key Modules: The course is divided into core and optional modules. Core modules throughout the program include French Language, Serbian/Croatian Language, Introduction to Serbian and Croatian Literature, and Great Works: From Antiquity to the Enlightenment.
