The Dutch and Hungarian BA course offered by UCL provides students with the opportunity to learn two contrasting yet equally important European languages. This four-year program combines comprehensive language training with the in-depth study of the culture and literature of the countries where these languages are spoken.Course Content: Over the course of four years, students will acquire a solid foundation in both Dutch and Hungarian languages. Alongside individual tutorials, seminars and lectures, interactive language exercises will be conducted in small groups. Students will also get a chance to immerse themselves in literature, history and culture of Netherlands, Belgium, and Hungary. The third year will be spent abroad improving language proficiency in countries where Dutch and Hungarian are spoken.Key Modules: Though the course content is subject to change, it comprises of core modules including Dutch language, Hungarian language, Dutch Literature from Middle Ages to 21st Century, Hungarian Literature from Middle Ages to present day, Modern Dutch Language I and II, and Modern Hungarian Language I and II, among others.Future Careers: Graduates of Dutch and Hungarian BA have pursued careers in a wide range of professions including translation and interpretation, broadcasting, journalism, event management, banking, marketing, teaching, civil service, and many more.
