BA Danish and Serbian/Croatian

The BA Danish and Serbian/Croatian course at University College London (UCL) is a unique 4-year language-based programme where students get the opportunity to study two diverse European languages and their rich cultural backgrounds. The programme enables the students to acquire an in-depth understanding of these two thrilling cultures along with the essential skills to interpret, translate, and critically examine the languages, literatures and histories. Course Content: The course entails active participation in text analysis, translation, interpretation and other class tasks. It includes the study of films, documentaries, newspapers and websites which facilitate detailed understanding of the social, historical and political contexts of these regions. During the third year, students enjoy opportunities to study abroad in Denmark, Croatia, Serbia or Bosnia and Herzegovina. Key Modules: The programme consists of essential modules which include an Introduction to Translation, Serbian/Croatian Language, Serbian/Croatian Literature, and Danish Language. Future Careers: Languages graduates from UCL have used their skills to secure positions in the media, communications, consultancy, business, finance and government sectors.
