The Danish and Finnish BA is a joint course program offered by University College London (UCL). This course aims to provide in-depth learning about Danish and Finnish languages, culture, history, and literature. Alongside this, students will get an exposure to Scandinavian modules which focus on literature, history, film, and society.Course Content: In the first year, students begin with a language module, which focuses on comprehensive language training for all four key skills - reading, writing, listening, and speaking. The second year focuses on more advanced language knowledge alongside Scandinavian-wide modules. During the final year, students have the flexibility to specialize in either Danish or Finnish language study depending on their interests. They also have the opportunity to select from a wide range of optional modules that include Scandinavian literature, film, history, society, and culture.Key Modules: Some of the key modules in this course include Danish Language, Finnish Language, Images of Scandinavia, Nordic Childhoods, Children's Literature, Cinema and Society, and Contemporary Danish and Finnish Society.Future Careers: Completing the course provides many career opportunities as graduates are equipped with expert knowledge of two languages and their cultures.
