BA Czech and Norwegian

The Czech and Norwegian BA course offered by UCL is a unique undergraduate degree program designed for students who have an interest in both Slovak and Norwegian literature and culture. The program provides in-depth knowledge and understanding of the Czech and Norwegian languages, literatures, and cultures, including history and social studies. The course duration is four years, with the third year typically spent abroad to enhance language skills and cultural knowledge. Course Content: While providing a solid foundation in the Czech and Norwegian languages, the degree program offers a wide choice of modules in literature, history, sociology, and film studies. Although no previous knowledge of Czech and Norwegian is required, students can start studying one or both languages at advanced levels. Key Modules: The core modules of the course include 'Czech Language', 'Norwegian Language', 'The History and Culture of Early-Modern and Modern Slovakia', 'The History and Culture of Early-Modern and Modern Norway', as well as 'Translation Studies'.
