BA Bulgarian and Spanish

The Bulgarian and Spanish BA course offered by University College London (UCL) provides an immersive experience of studying both Bulgarian and Spanish cultures and languages. This course combines intensive language study with a comprehensive analysis of Bulgarian and Spanish history, literature, and cultural aspects. Course Content: The first year of the course ensures a solid foundation in both languages. From the second year onwards, students can choose to focus more on either language, or continue with equal intensity in both. They will also thoroughly explore the history, culture, and literature of both countries. The third year of the course is typically a year abroad spent in either Bulgaria or a Spanish-speaking country (or split between both).Key Modules: This course offers modules including, but not limited to, Modern Bulgarian Language, Spanish Language, Highlights of Spanish Literature, and Introduction to Bulgarian Literature. On successfully completing the course, students will have a deep understanding of both the Bulgarian and Spanish languages, and a comprehensive knowledge of their cultural contexts.Future Careers: Graduates of Bulgarian and Spanish BA from UCL are expected to have a broad range of career options. These include international business, diplomacy, translation and interpreting, journalism, and work in non-governmental organisations.
