BA Bulgarian and Russian

The Bulgarian and Russian BA course at UCL (University College London) lets students explore two vibrant cultures and languages simultaneously. This 4-year course offers a comprehensive study of both Eastern Europe's languages, with an importance on developing translation skills and knowledge across a broad range of subjects.Course Content: The course provides a solid formation in the Bulgarian and Russian languages, as well as in culture, politics, history, and society of Bulgaria, Russia, and Eastern Europe. The first year is designed to provide a solid basis in both languages with core modules, followed by an intensive language module in the second year, and your third year overseas improving your language skills. Final year includes an optional extended essay or translation project according to your career or academic interest.Key Modules: Some of the key modules include 'Introduction to Bulgarian Literature', 'Introduction to Bulgarian Culture', 'Translation into English', 'Film and Literature: Bulgaria and the Balkans', etc for Bulgarian studies, and 'Russian 1', 'Russian 2', 'Russian Cinema', 'Russian Modernism', etc for Russian studies.
