Bulgarian and East European Studies BA is a full-time undergraduate course offered by University College London. The course provides a comprehensive understanding of the culture, history, and politics of the Balkans and Eastern Europe, with a particular focus on the country of Bulgaria.Course Content: The curriculum of the BA in Bulgarian and East European Studies is designed to provide students with the necessary language skills, cultural competence and critical awareness to enable them to engage in detailed study and analysis of the countries of Eastern Europe. The course allows students to combine their study of aspects of Eastern European history, culture, politics and societies with a study of the Bulgarian language. The course includes a year abroad in a country relevant to the student’s studies, normally in the third year.Key Modules: The programme is structured around two key modules in Bulgarian language (beginners and advanced). Additional modules include subjects such as Single Honours Modern European Studies, Myth, Ritual and Symbol, Politics in Eastern Europe, Southeast European Regional Studies, and others.
