      • Description

The Classical Art and Archaeology MA by Research at Royal Holloway University is designed for those interested in carrying out research in classical art, archaeology, or the reception of the classical world, without the commitment required to study a taught MA. Conducted over one year for full-time students, or two years for those who choose to study part-time, it offers significant flexibility and encourages students to independently investigate an aspect of classical antiquity that fascinates them most.

Course Content: The course involves independent research under the guidance of a specialist supervisor. Students can select their topic of research from a wide range of subjects like Roman archaeology, classical art, and archaeology, etc. The course is designed to provide students with the skills and methodology necessary for research.

Key Modules: The course does not have a modular structure as it is fundamentally based on one-to-one supervision of individual research projects.

Future Careers: Graduates of the Classical Art and Archaeology MA by Research can go on to pursue academic research at the PhD level. It also provides a strong basis for a career in the heritage sector, art business, publishing and education, as well as a wide range of other professions.
