The Music with Spanish undergraduate course at Royal Holloway, University of London, is a unique program that allows students to channel their passion for music and Spanish into a single degree. This degree course offers the opportunity to cultivate musical skills and knowledge to a high level while also achieving fluency in Spanish. Course Content: The program is structured to ensure that students gain a detailed understanding of both Music and Spanish. The ratio of Music to Spanish is roughly 75:25 if students choose to study Spanish at Intermediate level, or 67:33 if students start Spanish as a beginner. The first year provides a solid foundation in music and Spanish, with compulsory modules focusing on musical skills and culture while also brushing up your Spanish language skills or starting them from scratch. During the second year, students will continue to develop their musical and language skills, with the option to choose among several specialist modules. Key Modules: In the third year, students will have a choice of a wide variety of modules to pursue, including options in composition, performance. In addition, students pursuing Spanish will spend the year abroad in Spain or Latin America, gaining direct experience of Spanish-speaking cultures.
