Royal Holloway University's Classical Studies and Philosophy joint honours degree offers students the opportunity to delve into two complementary disciplines. The course provides a wide-ranging education in the humanities which encourages critical thinking, intellectual development, and explores the connection between the ancient and modern worlds.Course Content: The course combines Classical Studies and Philosophy in equal measure. Students will have the opportunity to study Greek and Latin language modules of all levels, from beginners to advanced. In the first year, students take introductory modules in both subjects, which will introduce them to key concepts, texts, and methods of study. The second and third year will involve more specialized study on a range of topics selected by the students themselves.Key Modules: The key modules of this course include Reading Greek Texts, Begin Latin, Begin Greek, The World of Homer, Modern Philosophy I, and Modern Philosophy II.Future Careers: This course will equip students with a strong foundation for a variety of future careers.
