The MEng in Mechanical with Automotive Engineering with Professional Placement at the University of Bath is a comprehensive program designed to equip students with a breadth of understanding in mechanical engineering, while specifically focusing on automotive aspects. It prepares students for the industrial environment by offering a professional placement opportunity to gain work experience. Course Content: The five-year course will cover a wide spectrum of topics in the first three years. Focusing on the underpinning knowledge and principles of mechanical engineering, students will also study topics like materials, manufacturing technology, mathematics, and business dynamics. The final two years allow students to specialize in areas of their interest. During the fourth year, students will complete a research project, whilst during the final year they undertake an automotive group design project. Key Modules: Core modules studied include Design & Manufacture, Dynamics, Structures & Materials, Thermofluids, and Technical Operations Management. From the second year onward, there are specialised modules such as Advanced Automotive Systems, Control Engineering, Turbocharger Engineering, and Automotive Materials, to name a few.Accreditations: The MEng in Mechanical with Automotive Engineering is accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) and fulfils the educational requirements for Chartered Engineer (CEng) status under UK-SPEC.
