MEng (Hons) Electronic Engineering with Space Science and Technology

The MEng Electronic Engineering with Space Science and Technology with Professional Placement is a five-year undergraduate course provided by the University of Bath. It offers a comprehensive study of electronics and space science, giving students the opportunity to develop their practical engineering skills and apply knowledge to real-life projects. A work placement in a leading company is included to give students crucial industry experience.Course Content: The course curriculum starts with the fundamentals of electrical and electronic engineering, space science as well as human and robotic spaceflight. Specialized topics such as Satellite Communications and Commercial Aspects of Space are explored in the later years. Students also undertake a group design project and final-year individual project to apply their acquired skills.Key Modules: Key modules include Digital Systems and Microprocessors, Introduction to Astronautics, and Commercial Aspects of Space. Later modules feature Space Systems Design and Spacecraft Propulsion, plus a final-year project.Accreditations: This course is provisionally accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) on behalf of the Engineering Council for the purposes of fully meeting the academic requirement for registration as a Chartered Engineer.Future Careers: Graduates from this course have excellent prospects, finding roles in sectors such as aerospace, communication, defence, energy, IT and telecommunications.
