The BEng (Hons) in Structural and Architectural Engineering with Professional Placement at the University of Bath offers students an in-depth understanding and practical experience in structural and architectural engineering. This four-year full-time course offers students opportunity to undertake a professional placement year.Course Content: This course comprises foundation and core knowledge in the first two years, covering mathematics, materials, fluid mechanics, structures, design, computing, geology, and surveying. In the final years, greater emphasis is placed on integrated design, innovation, and management with specialized modules in building information modelling (BIM), structural analysis, and design.Key Modules: Key modules throughout the course include 'Mathematics for Engineering', 'Engineering Structures', 'Computing and Design for Civil Engineers', 'Building Information Modelling' and 'Architectural Engineering Design Project'.Accreditations: This course is accredited and recognized by the Institution of Structural Engineers, Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation, and the Institution of Civil Engineers.Future Careers: After completing this course, students can embark on a successful career in civil engineering, working for consulting or contracting civil engineering firms, utility companies or government departments.
