BEng (Hons) Integrated Design Engineering

The BEng Integrated Design Engineering with Professional Placement course at the University of Bath draws from their Mechanical Engineering program, but puts a stronger emphasis on the creativity and skills needed to invent and package products that people need, and that can be manufactured and delivered to the market - a discipline known as design engineering.Course Content: The course will provide students with the knowledge to take a product from initial concept, through the design and development phase, to the production and delivery phase. It will teach key aspects like, how to make detailed component drawings, how to design for low cost manufacture, and how to design for high quality. The course also includes a year-long industry placement where students can put their learning into practice.Key Modules: Core modules include Designing for Manufacture, Materials and Manufacture 1, Materials Engineering Science and Design, Engineering Mathematics, Dynamical Engineering Systems, and Control Engineering. Accreditations: This course is accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE).
