BEng (Hons) Chemical Engineering

The BEng Chemical Engineering degree at the University of Bath is designed for individuals who wish to gain a strong foundation in the principles of chemical engineering. The course is suitable for those who are passionate about applying science to real-world challenges and who wish to practice engineering in a wide range of industries. Course Content: The first two years of the course will introduce students to the fundamental principles of chemical engineering, including mechanics, heat and mass transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics. The course will also explore chemical reaction engineering, process control, and safety, health and environment. In the final year, students can select from a range of specialist units, enabling them to align their studies with their career ambitions.Key Modules: Some key modules of the course include Chemical Thermodynamics, Process Control, Chemical Engineering Design Project, Fluid Mechanics and Transfer Processes, and Process Systems Integration.Accreditations: The course is accredited by the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) under licence from the UK regulator, the Engineering Council. Accreditation is a mark of assurance that the degree meets the standards set by the Engineering Council in the UK Standard for Professional Engineering Competence (UK-SPEC).Future Careers: After graduation, the students are ideally placed to work in a wide range of industries.
