The MA Filmmaking course at Buckinghamshire New University is a postgraduate program that develops a deep understanding of the entire film production process, from conception to completion. This course is tailor-made for those who are interested in developing the technical skills and understanding to pursue a career in the film industry, by directing or producing their own or others’ work.Course Content: The course content covers areas like Principles of Storytelling, Film Practice (including production and direction), Creative Development (concept to screenplay), Marketing & Distribution, Film Research skills, and the relationship between Film and the Society.Key Modules: The principal modules covered during this course comprise Storytelling for Screen; Cinematic Language, Production and Direction; Creative Development, Marketing and Distribution; Film Research. The course culminates in a Non-negotiated Major Project, usually a short film or documentary produced independently or as part of a team.Future Careers: Graduates of the MA Filmmaking course can pursue a variety of roles within the film and television industry, including roles as directors, producers, screenwriters, cinematographers, film editors and sound designers.
