BEng (Hons) Engineering Design

The BEng (Hons) Engineering Design course offered by Buckinghamshire New University is designed to equip individuals with the key engineering design skills to solve real-world problems. The course combines classroom-based theory with practical sessions and projects that enable students to apply their knowledge in a tangible way. Course Content: The course content is structured over three academic years and the final year includes a major individual project. Students have the opportunity to learn about design, materials, manufacturing, mechanics, thermodynamics, electronics, business management, and professional engineering applications. Furthermore, students can take advantage of the state-of-the-art facilities provided by the University to perform practical work.Key Modules: Some of the key modules included in the course are Engineering Mathematics, Introduction to Engineering Design, Mechanical Principles, Electronics, Materials and Manufacturing, Thermodynamics and Fluid Mechanics, Dynamics, Control Engineering, Engineering Management, and Engineering Project.Accreditations: The course is accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) on behalf of the Engineering Council as it meets the requirements for Further Learning for registration as an Incorporated Engineer (IEng). Future Careers: Graduates of the BEng (Hons) Engineering Design course have a wide array of career opportunities to consider, including various roles in design engineering, product design, project management, consultancy, and teaching.
