MEng (Hons) Materials Science and Engineering

The MEng Materials Science and Engineering course offered by Swansea University is a full-time 4-year program that prepares students to address the current challenges in the materials science field. The course focuses on teaching students the advanced analytical and practical skills required to develop, improve and apply materials in engineering solutions.Course Content: The MEng Materials Science and Engineering course covers a wide variety of topics such as alloys, ceramics, polymers, composites, and biomaterials. Students will also learn about the fundamentals of mechanical, electrical, and chemical properties of materials. The program further delves into experimental methods, computational modeling, and data analysis.Key Modules: Some of the key modules that students would engage with encompass: Structural Materials, Processing of Materials, Soft Matter, Polymer Science and Technology, Advanced Solid State Chemistry, Micromechanics, and Phase Transformations.Accreditations: This course is accredited by the Institute of Materials, Minerals, and Mining (IOM3) for the purpose of meeting in part the educational requirement for Chartered Engineer.Future Careers: Upon graduation, students from the MEng Materials Science and Engineering course can pursue careers in various sectors such as automotive, aerospace, energy, medical technology, and electronic devices production.
