The BSc Marine Biology course is a three-year course offered by Swansea University. The course is designed in a manner that allows students to study marine biology in an intricately detailed manner. It focuses on studying marine ecosystems, ranging from seagrass meadows, encompassed by coral reefs, to salt marshes and estuarine mudflats. The course offers a versatile curriculum that dives deep into the biological realms of marine life. Course Content: The course revolves around studying, interpreting, and understanding marine life. It studies the fundamental biology of marine systems across a spectrum of habitats. Predominantly, the focus is on the ecosystems across seagrass meadows and coral reefs to salt marshes and estuarine mudflats.Key Modules: Some of the key modules include Marine Biology, Principles of Life, and Animal physiology. Third-year students have the option to go on a field trip to Africa or stay in Swansea for the frontiers in Bioscience module. Accreditations: The course is accredited by the Royal Society of Biology for the purpose of meeting in part the academic and experience requirement for the Membership and Chartered Biologist (CBiol).Future Careers: After successful completion of the course students could opt for careers as Marine biologist, Fishery manager, Environment consultant, Research scientist (life sciences), and Water quality scientist.
