MA Post Production Editing

The MA in Post-Production Editing at Bournemouth University is a dynamic, innovative course that gives students the opportunity to develop complex and advanced post-production skills. This is a full-time course for one year, which begins in September and finishes in December. The course is also offered part-time over two years.Course Content: The course is designed in an industry-based manner; hence, the programme includes practical experience. Students have the opportunity to work on real life projects to further enhance their skills and knowledge. It covers areas such as narrative construction, storytelling and the impact of editing decisions on a film's final cut. Additionally, the programme includes a final major project where students can edit their own live action footage or potential rushes from a feature film. Key Modules: Students on this course will study modules such as: Post-Production Techniques, Editing Theory and Practice, and Post-Production Project Development. The course culminates in a master's project, where students can edit their own live action, animation, or use professional feature film rushes. Accreditations: This course is accredited by JAMES (Joint Audio Media Education Support). This means that the course is industry-certified, providing you with the highest level of training and recognition.Future Careers: After graduation, students are typically employed as assistant editors, freelance editors, post-production producers, or post-production supervisors.
