The BSc (Hons) in Operating Department Practice at Bournemouth University is a three-year full-time course. The course combines theoretical learning and clinical placement experience in preparation for a professional career within the operating department, providing key roles in the three phases of perioperative patient care.Course Content: The course encompasses both academic theory and skill-based clinical practice. It is designed to prepare the students for a professional career in the operating department. It combines theoretical classes on campus with hands-on experience in a variety of clinical placements, including theaters, intensive care units (ICUs) and emergency departments. Key Modules: Throughout the course, students are exposed to a variety of subjects including Anatomy & Physiology, Health Sciences, Professional Issues in Operating Department Practice and Research Methods.
