BSc (Hons) Mental Health Nursing

The BSc (Hons) Mental Health Nursing is a full-time 3-year course that is designed to train students in the field of mental health nursing. The course is offered by Bournemouth University and combines both theory and practical aspects of nursing providing students with a strong basis for their professional nursing career. Course Content: Throughout the course, students will learn about biological science, psychology, sociology, ethics, politics and nursing theory and practice as they relate to mental health nursing. The content is primarily divided into two areas of learning: 50% theoretical work and 50% practice-based learning. The teaching takes place in a range of environments including simulations, seminars, lectures, and practical training in clinical settings.Key Modules: Some of the key modules covered in the course include Introduction to Professional Practice (Mental Health Nursing), Developing Professional Practice (Mental Health Nursing), Personal & Professional Development (Mental Health Nursing), Promoting Health & Preventing Ill Health (Mental Health Nursing), and more. Accreditations: The BSc (Hons) Mental Health Nursing course is approved by the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC), meaning that the obtained degree will be internationally recognized and students will be eligible to register as a mental health nurse with the NMC upon successful course completion.Future Careers: Upon qualifying, students will be equipped to work in a variety of settings including the NHS, private healthcare providers, community healthcare services, and more.
