BA (Hons) Photography

The BA (Hons) Photography course offered by Bournemouth University is a full-time, three-year undergraduate program that aims at exploring the wide range of photographic practices and technologies. It encourages innovative approach, understanding the camera as a tool to question the world around us. The course is designed to develop the students' individual creative language in photography, enabling them to identify their future career aspirations within the vast scope of the subject.Course Content: The content of the course is delivered through various forms comprising lectures, seminars and practical workshops. Students will learn about the management of a photographic assignment from inception to completion. They also get opportunities to engage with live projects, competitions and exhibitions. Key Modules: Some of the key modules students will study include: 'Introduction to Photography', 'Creative Digital Practice', 'Photography and Visual Culture', 'Photography and the Constructed Image', 'Professional Development' and 'Major Project'.Accreditations: This course is accredited by the Association of Photographers (AOP), and as such its project, 'The AOP Awards', brings industry involvement to student's experience.Future Careers: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be well-positioned to launch a career in various areas.
