The BA (Hons) History course at Bournemouth University provides students with an opportunity to explore, analyse and understand the events which shaped our world. This three-year programme encourages students to challenge the events of the past, debate on global perspectives and improve their research and critical thinking skills.Course Content: The curriculum is designed to provide students with a deep understanding of British and European history, along with Asian, American and African history. They will be given the chance to study history from a variety of perspectives, including political, social, cultural, gender, and environmental history. Students will also have the opportunity to study a foreign language in their second year. Key Modules: Some of the key modules include Enlightenment and Revolution, War and Society in the Modern World, Contemporary Controversies in British History, Britain and the Wider World since 1945. In the final year, students need to complete a dissertation on a topic of their choice. Accreditations: This course is accredited by the National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ) and the Broadcast Journalism Training Council (BJTC). Future Careers: Graduates of this course can pursue careers in a wide range of fields including teaching, media and journalism, heritage and museums, law, business and public services.
