BA (Hons) Accounting

The BA (Hons) Accounting course offered by Bournemouth University is designed to equip students with financial and management accounting skills. In addition, the course will allow students to study taxation, law, and auditing. It provides students with the advantage of a placement year for practical experience.Course Content: The course is designed over three or four years including a 30-week placement in the third year. Year 1 focuses on Introduction to Management Accounting, Introduction to Financial Accounting, Business Law, Introduction to Management, and Academic and Professional Skills. In Year 2, students learn more about Financial Reporting, Performance Management, Taxation, Financial Management, Audit Framework plus an optional unit. Placement year offers opportunity to work in a real-world accounting role. Year 3 includes Advanced Financial Reporting, Issues in Management Accounting, Business Strategy and optional units.Key Modules: Key modules consists of Introduction to Management Accounting, Introduction to Financial Accounting, Business Law, Performance Management, Taxation, Financial Management, Audit Framework, Advanced Financial Reporting, and Issues in Management Accounting.Accreditations: The course is recognized by professional accounting bodies including the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).Future Careers: Upon completion, students can explore careers in accounting, finance, management, and in other sectors.
