BA (Hons.) Contemporary Media Practice

The Contemporary Media Practice BA Honours is a full-time course offered by the University of Westminster. Designed to stimulate innovation and novel approaches, this programme challenges students to explore the boundaries of contemporary media practice, from broadcast to social media, film to fashion, and game design to virtual reality.Course Content: The coursework is divided into three years or levels. The first year is focused on developing foundational knowledge with regards to contemporary media practice across different mediums. The second year delves deeper into factors informing contemporary media production, encouraging students to explore and experiment with different tools and mediums in a self-directed manner. In their final year, students are expected to produce a substantial, self-managed project that manifests their understanding and capabilities within their chosen scope.Key Modules: Some core modules that students can expect to study include "Media Production", "Media, Culture and Society", and "Final Project/ Exhibition". They'll also have a wide range of elective options, ranging from "Creative Coding" to "Extended Essay". Future Careers: Graduates of this programme are expected to have a wide variety of future career opportunities. These encompass areas like advertising, broadcast television, cinema, fine art, journalism, publishing and videogame design, as well as independent art and film practice.
