The Mechanical Engineering BEng(Hons) at Brighton University is a meticulously designed course providing students with a deep understanding of the principles and practices of mechanical engineering. The program develops high-level professional and practical skills for a successful career in mechanical engineering.Course Content: The course is structured on a modular basis, combining the fundamental principles of mechanical engineering with design and manufacturing modules. This includes elements of engineering science, engineering design, mechanical sciences (such as fluid mechanics and thermodynamics), and industrial management.Key Modules: The course consists of core modules that cover computing and programming for engineers, material science, project management & product development, thermodynamics and fluid mechanics, dynamics and control, as well as an individual final year project.Accreditations: The Mechanical Engineering BEng course is accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) and provides the academic requirements for Chartered Engineer (CEng) under the UK-SPEC.Future Careers: With a strong emphasis on employability, the courses’ graduates are primed for successful careers in areas such as design, research and development, manufacturing, and operations management, amongst others.
