The Politics BA (Hons) course at Brighton University invites students to critically examine the ideologies, policies, and power structures that define our world. This degree offers an international perspective; students are encouraged to enrich their learning by spending part of their course studying politics abroad.Course Content: This three-year full-time course is divided into three levels with distinct modules. The course content includes Global Politics and Human Rights, International Relations Theories, Globalization and Anti-Globalization, Languages, Contemporary British Politics, Comparative and Global Social Policy Europe: Politics and Policy and many more. Students also have the option to learn a language and gain practical work experience.Key Modules: Core modules include Introduction to Politics; Introduction to International Relations; and Global Europe: Politics and Policy in the first year. In the second year, students can choose modules like Comparative Politics, International Political Economy, Political Philosophy, and Investigating Social Issues or follow a language strand. In their final year, students undertake a dissertation and choose from modules including Comparative Social Policy, Europe: Politics and Policy, Global Politics & Human Rights, Identity, Sovereignty and State, Politics of the Middle East, and Researching Contemporary Issues.Accreditations: While the course itself does not carry specific accreditations, Brighton University is recognized as a leading institution, and the degree can lead to a wide array of career prospects.Future Careers: The degree prepares students for work in a range of fields. Graduates have found careers in the civil service, political research, teaching, PR, human rights work, and charity sector.
