The Photography BA (Hons) at the University of Brighton encourages students to explore and challenge the medium of photography, drawing on its history and its constantly evolving relationship with other media. It promotes creativity, self-expression and critical understanding to help you develop as a technically skilled maker of work. Course Content: This course lays emphasis on learning and understanding the concepts, theory and historical context of photography. It introduces photographic processes from analogue to digital, and from still image to moving image, alongside approaches such as installation, publication and digital media. Students get to participate in the final year graduate show.Key Modules: The course is divided into modules such as Exploring Photography, Photographic Cultures, Photographic Practices, Independent Research Project in Photography, and Exploring Media Practice.Accreditations: The course is validated by the University of Brighton and accredited by the Creative Skillset, the industry body for the UK creative industries.Future Careers: Graduates in this degree are prepared for a variety of career trajectories including photographer, curator, picture editor, multimedia specialist, lecturer or artist.
