The Journalism BA (Hons) is a full-time, three-year undergraduate degree offered at the University of Brighton. This course provides an intensive, in-depth exploration of journalism, preparing students not only for traditional roles in broadcasting and print but also in the rapidly evolving world of online journalism.Course Content: The course examines journalism from a range of perspectives, teaching students the skills necessary to produce high-quality multimedia content – text, audio and video – for both traditional and emerging media platforms. Year 1 lays strong foundations in journalism. Years 2, and 3 offer a variety of in-depth modules such as investigative journalism, reportage/long-form non-fiction writing and multimedia journalism. Students are also given the opportunity to undertake work placements in the industry. Key Modules: Notable modules throughout the course includes Journalistic Writing and Public Administration, Broadcast Journalism, Global Journalism: Issues & Debates, Investigative Journalism, Feature Writing, and Journalism Projects which include students working on the University’s award winning magazine, 'The Verse'. Accreditations: The course is accredited by the Broadcast Journalism Training Council (BJTC) which means the course is industry-validated and produces graduates who are "job-ready".
