The English Literature BA (Hons) at the University of Brighton is a full-time, three-year undergraduate course that seeks to explore a rich and diverse range of English literature from around the globe. It encourages students to discover connections between periods, forms, and contexts, and to challenge traditional boundaries in their study of literature.Course Content: Students will cover key areas of English literature from the renaissance period to the present day. Topics include contemporary literature, romanticism, post-colonial literature, literary theory and criticism, drama and poetry. Key Modules: Some of the modules are 'Reading the Renaissance', 'Romantics and Victorians: Literature 1789–1901', 'Nineteenth-century American Literature', 'Postcolonial Literatures', 'Television Studies: Theory and Practice' and 'Modernist Movements: Making it New in Literature and Culture 1900–1950'. Future Careers: Graduates from this course often enter careers in publishing, journalism, PR, teaching, advertising, law, politics, social work or write and publish their own work.
