MSc Biomedical Science

The MSc Biomedical Science course at Coventry University is a full-time, one-year programme aimed at preparing students for a career in biomedical science. The course combines training in laboratory and research skills and provides a breadth of knowledge in the various areas of biomedical science.Course Content: The course content covers key areas such as human disease processes, immunology, biochemistry, and molecular biology. It also delves into understanding the pathology of disease at the molecular, organ, and systems level. The course also covers the importance and performance of the biomedical laboratory in relation to diagnosing human disease.Key Modules: Some of the key modules include Research Skills in Biomedical Science, Molecular and Cell Biology, Clinical Biochemistry, Medical Microbiology, Human Disease, and MSc Dissertation. The MSc Dissertation module provides an opportunity to carry out a substantial research project on a selected topic.Accreditations: The course is accredited by the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS).Future Careers: Upon completion of the course, graduates may embark on careers such as healthcare scientists in the NHS, diagnostic and therapeutic industry, in research institutions or in education.
