BEng (Hons.) Aerospace Technology

The Aerospace Technology BEng (Hons) course at Coventry University provides a solid foundation for budding aerospace professionals. This course combines academic study with practical lab-based projects. The School of Mechanical, Aerospace and Automotive Engineering at Coventry University has state-of-the-art facilities such as subsonic and supersonic wind tunnels, as well as flight simulators, to ensure students have access to the best equipment for their studies.Course Content: The course is split into three years (four if taken with a sandwich year in industry). In the first year, students acquaint themselves with the basics of engineering as well as mathematics and mechanics. In the second year, students delve deeper into the field, studying areas such as aerospace structures and thermodynamics, as well as control systems and aerodynamics. The final year includes advanced topics like navigation systems and computational fluid dynamics, amongst others.Key Modules: Some of the key modules included in this course are Engineering Mathematics, Aviation Legislation and Planning, Flight Simulation, Aerospace Structural Design, and Air Transport Economics.Accreditations: The course is accredited by the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) and the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, (IMechE). This means the course meets the standards set by these professional bodies and can lead to full membership and Chartered Engineer Status.Future Careers: Graduates of this course have found employment in a wide variety of sectors, notably in the aviation and aerospace industry.
