BA (Hons.) Social Work

The Social Work BA (Hons) taught at Coventry University is a comprehensive course designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills and understanding needed for a successful career in social work. The course, delivered on a full-time basis, will enable students to effectively support others and make a meaningful change in their lives.Course Content: This course has a focus on current knowledge about models and methods of social work intervention, thereby allowing students to explore techniques and theories on social work practice. Students also get to learn about social policy, the sociology of childhood, and the legal system related to child protection.Key Modules: Some of the core modules offered in the course includes Understanding Social Work, Society and Social Welfare, Learning from Practice, Research for Effective Practice, Working with Adults and Working with Children, Families and Young People.Accreditations: This course is accredited by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Following successful completion of the course, students will be eligible to apply for registration as a social worker with the HCPC.Future Careers: With this degree, students will be prepared for working in a range of settings including health and social care, children's services, adult services, voluntary organisations, and residential care homes.
