The Criminology and Law BA (Hons) course at Coventry University uniquely combines the study of two exciting fields - criminology and law. It provides a comprehensive understanding of current debates within criminology and the criminal justice system. It further allows students to develop an understanding of the legal system, legal reasoning, and law’s impact on society. Course Content: The course is designed to provide an in-depth understanding of the causes of crime, responses to crime, and the functions of the criminal justice system. The blend of criminology and law prepares students to adapt and react to contemporary challenges in these fields. In addition to the theory, students will also gain practical knowledge by participating in mock court trials and debates.Key Modules: Key course modules include Theories of Crime, Punishment and Society, Contemporary Legal Issues, and Crime and the Media.
