The Law LLB course offered by Aston University aims to prepare students for a range of legal careers. This course enables students to gain a qualifying law degree alongside developing a wider understanding of the social, political, historical and cultural context of the law. Course Content: Starting with core principles of criminal and constitutional law, students progressively build their knowledge and capabilities to explore advanced legal topics, such as corporate governance law, forensic psychology, or international trade law. They will also have the opportunity to provide pro bono legal advice, under the supervision of a qualified solicitor, to real clients through the Aston Law Clinic. Key Modules: The course provides students with the opportunity to study law modules such as Contract Law, Criminal Law, Legal Skills, Public Law, Law of Tort, European Union Law, Equity and Trusts, Law of Property, Public International Law, Commercial Law, and Company Law. It also provides opportunities to explore optional modules such as Clinical Legal Education, Intellectual Property Law, Medical Law, Family Law, Employment Law, International Trade Law and Forensic Psychology. Accreditations: The course is recognised as a qualifying A level Law degree by the Solicitors Regulation Authority and the Bar Standards Board.Future Careers: This course prepares students for a range of legal careers and roles within the legal professions. Graduates can work in solicitor’s firms, barrister’s chambers, the courts and tribunals service, legal executive roles, legal advisory roles in private companies, government legal services, legal teaching roles, legal roles in NGOs, and postgraduate legal research.
