The Electronic Engineering and Computer Science BEng course at Aston University is designed to impart students with a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in areas of electronics, signal processing, engineering programming and computer-based systems. As part of the course, students gain the competence to design and develop advanced digital systems and have the opportunity to foster their practical skills in laboratory and workshop environments, using industry-standard equipment.Course Content: The course comprises of a wide range of modules including, electronics, signal processing, computer science, and engineering mathematics. The course also involves practical learning, independent project work and the development of skills such as communication, teamwork, and problem solving.Key Modules: Some of the modules included are Principles of Computer Systems, Applied Engineering Mathematics, Introduction to Electronic Engineering, Microprocessor Systems, Machine Learning Techniques, Professional Practice for Electronics and Computer Science, and Cognitive Robotics.Accreditations: The course is accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) on behalf of the Engineering Council for the purposes of fully meeting the academic requirement for registration as an Incorporated Engineer and partly meeting the academic requirement for registration as a Chartered Engineer.Future Careers: Post completion of the course, students may seek employment in a variety of sectors such as electronics, telecommunications, automotive, computing, and more.
