The History BA at Aston University invites students to explore history from a variety of perspectives, teaching them research, analytical and communication skills. The student will study different societies, cultures, and people throughout history and gain a better understanding of the world as a result.Course Content: The course is structured to develop a deep understanding of global, local, and regional histories. The course includes comparative studies to better understand how different societies, cultures, and personalities have shaped the world. Key Modules: The core modules include: 'Becoming Modern: love, sex and respectability in 19th-century Britain', 'Revolutionary Europe, 1789-1851', 'Thatcher and Thatcherism', 'Decolonisation, Violence, Terror: The End of French Empire'. Others include 'Britain Since 1945: Continuity and Change', and 'Seeking the American Dream: The United States in the 20th Century'.Accreditations: The History BA is not currently accredited by an external body. Future Careers: After graduating, students will be well-equipped to enter a variety of fields, such as public and private sectors in roles including advertising, management, journalism, and teaching.
