BSc (Hons) Popular Music Production

The BSc (Hons) Popular Music Production at Solent University is a full-time, undergraduate course that is designed to help students build a dynamic portfolio of professional-level music productions. Through hands-on experience and theoretical learning, the course encourages students to develop a deep understanding of how popular music production processes can be manipulated and applied.Course Content: The degree offers a broad base of knowledge in music production including studio recording, live sound production, and commercial audio post-production. It further extends the traditional boundaries of music production and investigates how the producer's role can be applied to other areas such as songwriting, realisation, and performance. The final year focuses entirely on a single, self-directed final project.Key Modules: This course comprises of diverse modules including Studio recording and engineering, Manipulating Sound, Finding Your Voice (Songwriting and Production), Electronic Music Composition, Mixing and Mastering, Music for Media, and Audio Post-Production.Future Careers: On completion of this course, graduates can seek employment in numerous areas within the music industry such as music producer, recording engineer, mix engineer, mastering engineer, live sound engineer, programmer, or songwriter.
