The Film and Television BA at Solent University is a full-time course designed to arm students with the tools and knowledge they need to forge successful careers in the film and television industry. Through a combination of practical training and theoretical study, students will explore various aspects of the industry – from the latest developments in digital technology to direct creative and production work.Course Content: The course is an eclectic mix of study and practice ensuring students understand the industry in depth. Students will be exposed to a variety of genres and formats, including drama, documentary and factual entertainment, while exploring both the art and science of film and television production. Practical learning is enhanced with a course emphasis on group work that mimics professional practise in the industry. Key Modules: The core subject areas include narrative conventions, pre-production, production and post-production for film and television, screenwriting, cinematography, film and television directing, editing, production management, sound design, and colour grading.
