The Sport Rehabilitation and Conditioning BSC (Hons) course offered by the University of Northampton is designed to provide students with the necessary knowledge and skills to assess, treat, and rehabilitate athletes back to, or to enhance sport-specific fitness following an injury. This course fosters a critical, problem-solving approach to the pre, intra, and post-event physical activity and sports injuries. Course Content: Over the course of study, students will learn about various areas of sport rehabilitation including, prevention, recognition, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and management of injuries. They will be equipped with the skills to employ physiology, biomechanics, and psychology to optimise performance in sport. Moreover, opportunities to engage in practical activities and case studies will be provided.Key Modules: Some of the key modules include Foundations in Human Movement, Sport Rehabilitation in Practice, Applied Sport Rehabilitation and Integration of Strength and Conditioning Principles. Advanced Clinical Decision Making, Manual Therapy Techniques, and Clinical Sport Rehabilitation are also part of the curriculum.Accreditations: This course is accredited by The British Association of Sport Rehabilitators and Trainers (BASRaT). Future Careers: Graduates of this course may find employment in a variety of careers such as sport rehabilitators with the ability to work within sport and exercise environments or in the health and fitness industry. They can work with professional sports teams, the Armed Forces or within a multi-disciplinary clinic environment.
