The MSc Publishing program at Edinburgh Napier University is designed to prepare students for a career in the publishing industry with technical, creative, and managerial skills. This course provides a comprehensive and co-ordinated approach to all aspects of publishing, equipping students with the necessary knowledge and abilities to excel in the field.Course Content: The course covers areas such as publishing in context, marketing management in publishing, and creating products for a digital world, teaching students about every step of the publishing process. In addition, this program includes sessions on publishing software, copyright, and the business of publishing as well as provides the opportunity for students to develop practical publishing projects.Key Modules: Key modules include Publishing in Context, Marketing Management in Publishing, Creating Products for a Digital World, Magazine Publishing, Book Publishing in Practice, and the publishing project. There are also optional modules that students can choose from in their second trimester.Accreditations: This course is accredited by the Professional Publishers Association (PPA). It is also recognized by the Sector Skills council, Creative Skillset, as delivering the skills published businesses want.Future Careers: Graduates from this course can find careers in a wide variety of roles in the publishing industry such as commissioning editors, literary agents, and production managers. Some have also progressed in related areas like marketing, publicity, rights, and digital media.
