BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering

The BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering is a full-time, three-year course offered by the University of Bolton. This program is designed to provide students with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their field, focusing on the design, construction, and management of civil and structural engineering projects.Course Content: This course covers a wide range of subjects, including the principles of civil engineering, design and construction technology, structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, hydraulics and hydrology, transportation and highway engineering, and environmental engineering. Additionally, it offers opportunities for specialised study and research in the final year.Key Modules: The key modules include Engineering Mathematics, Engineering Principles, Built Environment Technology, Geotechnical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Water Engineering, and Civil Engineering Design Project.Accreditations: This course is accredited by the Joint Board of Moderators (JBM) consisting of the Institution of Civil Engineers, the Institution of Structural Engineers, the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation, and the Institute of Highway Engineers for full exemption from the academic requirement for Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status and partially satisfies the academic requirements for Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.Future Careers: Graduates of this course may potentially find careers in various industries such as design and management, consultancy firms, construction companies and public sector organisations focusing on water resources, transportation, building, and environmental sectors.
