The BEng (Hons) Biomedical Engineering degree at the University of Bolton offers an in-depth understanding of engineering principles and methods, alongside the science that underpins biomedical engineering. It includes knowledge of biology and anatomy, physics, clinical methodologies, health safety and legislation, and ethics.Course Content: The program aims to produce engineers who can apply their skills and knowledge to prevent, diagnose, and monitor conditions and diseases. Students will learn to apply problem-solving skills, evaluate medical equipment, and formulate scientific investigations. They will also understand the responsibilities and ethical implications of practice in biomedical engineering.Key Modules: Key modules include Medical Electronics, Principles of Biomedical Engineering, Medical Imaging Techniques, Biomechanics, and the Individual Project, which will require you to carry out an in-depth piece of work on a relevant topic of your choice.Accreditations: The BEng (Hons) Biomedical Engineering program is accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) on behalf of the Engineering Council for the purposes of fully meeting the academic requirement for registration as an Incorporated Engineer and partly meeting the academic requirement for registration as a Chartered Engineer.Future Careers: Graduates are equipped for careers in the design, manufacture, and testing of medical equipment, and also in the management, research, and sales functions of the profession.
