BA (Hons) Photography with foundation year

The BA (Hons) Photography with Foundation Year is a full-time four-year course offered by the University of Bolton. The course aims to provide the skills and knowledge required for a successful career in the photography industry. It emphasises practical skills development alongside critical understanding of the photography field.Course Content: The course combines practical and theoretical elements with a focus on developing professional and academic skills. Students study a range of topics, including photojournalism, fashion photography, contemporary art practice and digital imaging. They also undertake business-focused units that equip them with the skills needed in the professional world.Key Modules: Modules cover areas such as photographic practice, histories and theories of photography, professional studies and critical studies. In their final year, students are expected to undertake a negotiated major project in order to demonstrate their ability to pursue an independent line of enquiry, manage their own project and critically reflect on their work.Future Careers: Graduates may pursue jobs in a variety of fields within the photography industry, including commercial and corporate photography, photojournalism and documentary photography, editorial and magazine photography, event and wedding photography, fashion photography, and fine art photography.
